On this day in 1966, Helena Bonham Carter was born.
From there, it's been a string of gloriously creepy-sexy characters. Famous for playing roles that are darker, roles where she's murderous and roles where she isn't required to keep a neat bun, Helena is pretty badass. A sampling:
Bellatrix Lastrange (Harry Potter)
Dr. Julia Hoffman (Dark Shadows)
Elizabeth (Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein)
It was also on this day in 1897 that Bram Stoker published Dracula. Since then, it's been made into countless TV, video game and movie adaptations – and surprisingly NONE of them star Helena Bonham Carter.
However, the 1958 version starred old Grand Moff Tarkin himself, Peter Cushing (not the CGI version). Cushing also happens to have born on this day in 1913.
Tomorrow: Cackling ol' Vincent Price.
