Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) and Toni Colette (The Sixth Sense) will headline the Xmas-themed horror flick Krampus, another horror opus straight from the mind of Michael Dougherty, who was behind the Halloween-themed movie Trick’r Treat. Dougherty wrote the script with Todd Casey and Zach Shields and will also be helming the movie. The cast also includes Stefania Owen (The Lovely Bones), David Koechner (Anchorman), Allison Tollman (Fargo) and Emjay Anthony (Chef).
The gist of the story is about a family coming under attack from a Santa Claus-like ancient pagan demon, aka the Krampus, which punishes bad kids. So you better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, we’re telling you why: The Krampus is coming to town.
Adam Scott — fresh from his stint as lovable Ben on Parks and Recreation and, most recently, in Hot Tub Time Machine 2 — will play the workaholic and absent dad who has to step up to save his family.
Australian actress Tony Collette will play the mom, a woman who pretends everything’s rosy with her family and is a bit of a food freak, creating elaborate meals. She’ll also have to get herself together in order to protect her family.
Stefania Owen will play Scott’s daughter, while Emjay Anthony will play the son who'll be the target of the Krampus.
Allison Tolman will be playing Toni Collette’s sister-in-law.
David Koechner will play another father whose child has vanished under some mysterious circumstances.
Legendary Pictures is eying a spring shoot in New Zealand, and the movie is set to be released just in time for Christmas on Dec. 4, 2015.
