The Merc With A Mouth kills a whole lot of people in NSFW Deadpool trailer

After leaving fans salivating for footage in the wake of that San Diego Comic-Con exclusive trailer, the official trailer for Deadpool has arrived — and it is glorious.

The trailer shows off a lot of the footage fans in Hall H got a peek at already, though there are also some fresh takes and action here. The footage is heavy on the action and attitude, with Ryan Reynolds dropping F-bombs and blowing out brains with reckless abandon. For those uninitiated with Wade Wilson’s origin story, the trailer also does an excellent job of establishing the elevator pitch for the film and its tone (see: violent, funny).

The scene from the famously leaked concept footage that led to the film getting a green light is also here, so it's nice to know we’ll get a bigger-budget take on that freeway shootout. We also get to see the extended cast beyond Reynolds’ Deadpool, including Morena Baccarin as Vanessa,   T.J. Miller’s Weasel, Andre Tricoteux as Colossus and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. They all look like good fits for the universe.

Oddly enough, the studio released both a red-band and green-band cut of the trailer, but let’s be honest — if you’re watching the green-band trailer, this movie probably isn’t for you. The green-band version axes a lot of the language and blood, plus some quick cuts of sexy scenes that are present in the NSFW version. Most of the best jokes are also replaced with more PG-13 level versions.
