With the success of the time-loopy Source Code, Jones has graduated from "guy who made a tiny but awesome sci-fi flick" to "guy who is suddenly in the running to take over a Hugh Jackman franchise." But is it true?
Well, Jones is being cagey. Which, in all fairness, is exactly what he should be, given that if he is going to step into the directorial slot that Darren Aronofsky vacated—after it became clear that shooting the ninja-heavy Wolverine would require a decent amount of time overseas—it's very early on in the process ... and he hasn't even taken the meetings yet.
But when he sat down with IGN during London's Kapow! comics convention, Jones revealed some definite thoughts about who Logan is, as a character, and how cool The Wolverine could be.
Jones is clearly interested in doing his own thing, and that's admirable. But if Fox and Jackman are looking for someone to elevate the material, they could do far worse than rope in Jones.
