Fans of Uncharted rejoice! Naughty Dog (who happens to be my favorite game developer) revealed during last weekend’s 2016 PlayStation Experience that players will get one more adventure set in the world of Nathan Drake. They also unveiled nearly nine minutes of cool gameplay footage from Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Instead of playing with everyone’s favorite treasure hunter, however, the new DLC game (available sometime in 2017) will feature Chloe Frazer (voiced by Farscape and Stargate SG-1’s Claudia Black) as the lead protagonist. The popular character was first introduced in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. In the video below, we see that Chloe has a new partner in Nadine Ross (Laura Bailey), who was last seen in Nathan Drake’s last adventure (released earlier this summer), Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
The Lost Legacy is confirmed as taking place after the events of Uncharted 4, and the game will be set in India, in the Western Ghats mountain range, where Chloe and Nadine will be on the hunt for a treasure called the Tusk of Ganesh. The game is said to be “longer than [The Last of Us] Left Behind but shorter than Uncharted 4.” Which, having played The Last of Us' DLC, should make for a fairly decent amount of gameplay.
Here’s what Naughty Dog said about developing Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
When we began to plot out the story and our vision for the game, we realized we were building something more than an extension of Uncharted 4, and instead, a standalone story in the Uncharted universe. We wanted this adventure to feature all of the hallmarks of the series, from cinematic storytelling set within exotic destinations, to dynamic combat and intricate puzzles. It’s our biggest story expansion to-date and will be available as a standalone game on store shelves and for digital download.
