Despite generally positive reviews, with some calling the project the most original new drama of the season, NBC's Kings debuted Sunday as the lowest-rated program between 8 p.m. and 11 on a major broadcast network, The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed blog reported.

The show drew 6 million viewers and earned a 1.6 preliminary rating among adults 18-49. The show's two-hour debut was on par with this season's other bottom-of-the-barrel premieres, like last week's reality show Chopping Block and former Friday night adventure Crusoe.
