Watch the stunning new behind-the-scenes reel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi

We don't have a full trailer (yet), but coming out of D23 Expo today is a new behind-the-scenes video for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Frankly, I find the BTS package more interesting than an over-produced trailer, because we get to see some really fun stuff that would never be in a trailer: John Boyega teasing director Rian Johnson about his Wookie calls; a nice selection of puppets; Daisy Ridley training; and General Akbar telling us, "It's a wrap!"

Be forewarned, however: the Carrie Fisher stuff will bring a tear to your eye. I have a black hole where my heart should be, and even I got a little misty.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi stars Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaacs as Poe Dameron, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Mark Hammill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Princess General Leia, and newcomer to the franchise Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico. Directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi lands in theaters December 15th.
