Season 10 of Doctor Who is currently well underway, with the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) now accompanied in his latest series of timey wimey adventures by new companion Bill (Pearl Mackie).

Ahead of the show’s third episode taking place in 1814 London (one of my favorite historical eras, and Bill and the Doctor get to play dress-up), BBC America has released the latest trailer for our time travelers’ next madcap adventure, a new clip and a series of icy cool pics for “Thin Ice,” set to air this coming Saturday.

Penned by Sarah Dollard (Doctor Who “Face the Raven”), what's great about the upcoming episode (besides the fact that London is frozen stiff and that beneath the River Thames there are some weird-looking fishes sporting light thingies on their heads) is the fact they'll get to play 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in some very Whovian-looking diving suits. Guys, it's so refreshing not having to see those sempiternal orange spacesuits the show’s been using for years! So, what’s “Thin Ice” about? Here’s the synopsis:

London, 1814. The entire city has turned out for the biggest Frost Fair in decades! But beneath the frozen Thames, revelers are disappearing, snatched through the ice. Pulled into the depths where a terrifying monster lurks. Will the Doctor and Bill stop the slaughter before they too are dragged into the icy waters?

Doctor Who returns this Saturday on BBC, BBC America and Space.
