Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but I’ve never been the type of guy who fancied playing with Barbie dolls … until now! That’s because we’re getting a better look at some revealing Justice League toys, including the Barbie Signature version of the Queen of Atlantis, Mera.

We know that Amber Heard is playing Mera in both Justice League and James Wan’s upcoming Aquaman film. Other than what we’ve seen in her brief appearance in the first Justice League trailer and some social posts, we really don’t know all that much about how the character will be portrayed on screen. But perhaps these new toys tell us some things (as only toys can do these days).

Despite my proclivities toward Barbies, let’s start with the more revealing toy, Mattel’s movie-accurate DC Comics Multiverse Justice League Mera 6″ scale figure (retail price $19.95), which actually gives us some idea about her ability to form “hard water” and use it as a weapon. Check out the interchangeable hands (more shots in the gallery below) that show off her skills. Of course, it’d be hard to create a 6” figure that wielded tons of water, so we’ll have to wait and see as to the scope of her powers.

Now, on to Barbie Mera (retail price $39.95), which Nerdist debuted during Comic-Con along with a Wonder Woman Barbie, only without showing off the boxes. But have a close look at Mera Barbie’s box art, as photographed by Facebooker Papsuile Mele, and you can see that we’ve got one of our best looks yet at Mera’s Justice League costume.

Mera, Aquaman’s wife, has been a powerful part of the DCU since she was first created by Jack Miller and Nick Cardy in Aquaman #11 in 1963. Both Mera figures can be purchased this fall, just about the time when live-action Mera will be swimming her way into theaters in Justice League, which opens Nov. 17, 2017. Aquaman is set to debut Dec. 21, 2018.
