If that San Diego Comic-Con trailer for Justice League didn’t make it clear, the latest synopsis should do it — the DCEU is Wonder Woman’s world. Batman, Superman, and all those other guys are just living in it.

An interesting new synopsis for Justice League has dropped, shifting the focus away from Batman and onto the Amazonian warrior who lit up the box office earlier this year in Wonder Woman. The new plot breakdown for the film was released by Mattel, as part of the packaging for the Mera doll. We have the text below, along with the original synopsis released several months ago. Let's compare and contrast.

Here’s the new one:

Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Here’s the old one:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes–Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash–it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Notice a few differences there?

Yeah, the new draft shifts the focus away from the Dark Knight’s efforts to found the Justice League, and instead zeroes in on how Wonder Woman is getting DC’s heroes all on the same page. Admittedly, it’s a toy packaging synopsis, but it’s a sign that DC is shifting the marketing focus in the direction of the studio’s most successful hero. Wonder Woman has made more than $800 million worldwide and is easily the most critically successful DC film of the DCEU.

With a starring role in Justice League, rumors of a big role in Flash Point, and a Wonder Woman sequel on the way, it’s all coming up Wonder Woman. Justice League opens November 17.

What do you think? Will the DCEU be better with Wonder Woman playing a centerpiece role?
