Filming on the big-screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower is going roundly in New York City, and, thanks to the wonderful world of the Internet, we have a fantastic new look at Idris Elba fully suited up as Roland Deschain, aka The Gunslinger.

Following the release of the brand-new images featuring Elba in his gunslinger garb, producer Ron Howard shared a new pic of himself posing with Elba and The Dark Tower helmer Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair).

We also have our first peek at what could be the first meeting between Roland and young Jake Cambers (Tom Taylor). Matthew McConaughey, who pays the Man in Black, has also been spotted on set earlier last week, but he and Elba have apparently filmed their scenes separately. Check them out:

The Dark Tower series tells the story of Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, who is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower. Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum.  It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it.

The Dark Tower stars Idris Elba as Roland Deschain and Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black. Also starring are Kathryn Winnick, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee, Claudia Kim, Tom Taylor and Jackie Earle Haley. The movie will open in theaters on Feb. 17, 2017.
