An awesome new The Wolverine international trailer has surfaced, and it's got tons of brand-new scenes as well as some bits (aka plot elements) that could be considered a tad spoilery.
So -- SPOILERS!
The James Mangold-directed flick sees Logan, played by an incredibly buff Hugh Jackman, going to modern-day Japan, where he faces his greatest nemesis in a battle to the death.
This time there’s no Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) in sight, but there’s a lot of Rila Fukishima, who plays red-haired Yukio; Tao Okamoto as Mariko Yashida (Wolvie’s new lady love); and Svetlana Khodchenkova as the villainous Viper. Plus there are some pretty cool fight scenes featuring samurais, ninjas on motorcycles and the Silver Samurai.
Check out the film’s synopsis below:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
All in all, this new trailer looks good, and we're really excited to see James Mangold’s take on everyone's favorite X-Man with The Wolverine.
What do you think of the new trailer? Do you think The Wolverine has what it takes to make the cut in a year filled with superhero movies?
The Wolverine will claw its way into theaters on July 26 in North America, and on July 25 in the U.K.
