"The path to paradise begins in hell."
Well, this is one heck of a surprise! We weren't expecting to see this terrifying beauty until Wednesday, but 20th Century Fox has just dropped the new Alien: Covenant trailer!
Featuring loads of exciting new footage -- including a first real look at the new Xenomorphs (aka the Neomorphs) in action -- the latest trailer for director Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel gives us a better idea of the actual storyline. Everything starts all unicorns and rainbows (well, with as much hope and fluffiness one can tolerably expect when you live on board a spaceship bound for the far side of the galaxy) until all, uh, hell breaks loose. You know stuff's about to go down when you arrive on a new planet and there's not a sound to be heard, right?
(Side note: I love how Katherine Waterston is channeling her inner Ripley in everything we've seen so far.)
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Check out the new trailer (and awesome new poster!) below. Alien: Covenant opens May 19.
