A new BBC trailer has just given us with our first look at the upcoming BBC sci-fi series Outcasts, starring Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber. And there's some Doctor Who—as well as Sherlock—in there, too.
Outcasts, which we told you was sort of a mashup between Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica (in which Bamber starred as Lee ''Apollo'' Adama) and even Firefly, was supposed to air on our TV screens this past December—but obviously didn't.
(No new official date has been settled on for now, but IMDb has a date of August 2011 for the showing of the first episode. But that certainly doesn't make it set in stone.)
Look for a peek at what we believe is the upcoming sci-fi series' spaceship at about 25 seconds in, in orbit above the pioneers' destination planet Carpathia, with more footage sprinkled about in the trailer.
As for the Doctor Who clips, there's nothing that we haven't already seen in the teaser trailer we showed you a week or so ago, but any Doctor Who is cool.
And before anyone gets TOO excited, the Sherlock clips are from the first series, since they haven't started filming series two yet. But there WILL be a new Sherlock series this fall, even if Martin Freeman (who's playing Dr. John Watson) is playing Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit.
