After Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy spoke up for the tiny Canadian hamlet of Vulcan, Paramount agreed to bring an exclusive pre-release screening of J.J. Abram's movie to the town, which had been pressing for the world premiere even though it doesn't have a movie theater; instead, a private screening will be held for 300 lottery-winning Vulcan residents at a state-of-the-art movie theater in Calgary.

Speaking of Star Trek, Abrams has closed a new deal with Paramount to keep him and his Bad Robot production company at the studio through 2013, according to Variety; next up for Abrams and Bad Robot: the Roger Michel-directed Morning Glory, starring Harrison Ford and Rachel McAdams, which comes out in 2010.
