Let's go through this list of sci-fi birthdays so you can see for yourself that this day in sci-fi history is a celebrity jackpot.

First up? Dave Cockrum. Born on this day in 1943, Cockrum was the co-creator of some of your favorite X-Men, including Storm, Nightcrawler, and Colossus. He passed on from this earthly realm in 2006.

Stanley Tucci was born on this day in Peekskill, New York, in 1960. His sci-fi cred remains strong, with roles in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014), Muppets Most Wanted (2014), Jack the Giant Slayer (2013), and of course, The Hunger Games series (2012-2014).

Next up: Demi Moore, born in Roswell, New Mexico, on this day in 1962. She was in Ghost (1990), of course.

In 1964, Calista Flockhart was born on this day in Freeport, Illinois. Sci-fi stretch, you say? Perhaps, but she's doing some pretty fascinating work on Supergirl lately.

And finally, Leonardo DiCaprio was born on this day in 1974 in Hollywood. Inception (2010) remains some of his weirdest and best work.

Tomorrow: It's Inconceivable!
