It's Friday, and I'm excited about a couple of things: one, that our new SFF romance monthly recommendations series is officially kicking off (here's a link to our handy intro post); and two, that the second day of Emerald City Comic Con is concluded (and you can revisit everything that happened here via our live stream).

What are you most eager to do (or not do) this weekend? I plan on curling up with a bunch of e-books and actively not working for a change.

Here are today's links!

- How Annihilation nails the complex reality of depression. (Vulture)
- When men write fanfiction, it’s not fanfiction because it’s “academic.” Cue eye-rolling all the way over here. (The Mary Sue)
- On the bisexual boom currently circling through television. (Vulture)
- It’s time to restructure Hollywood from the inside out. (DAME)

You can send us suggestions for stuff to include in future round-ups at any time, either in the comments below or via our Twitter feed at @Syfyfangrrls.
