The Torchwood team is back! Yes, all five original cast members of the much-loved Doctor Who spinoff are reuniting for a new audio adventure later this year, Big Finish  has announced.

Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), Gwen Cooper (Eve Miles), Ianto Jones (Gareth David Lloyd), and more will be coming together again for a tale titled Torchwood: Believe, and we can’t wait to find out what’s been happening down at the Torchwood Institute in Cardiff, Wales.

You’ll be happy to hear that early characters from the first two series of the Russell T Davies show will also be joining in on the fun — Owen Harper (Burn Gorman) and Toshiko Sato (Naoko Mori).

Big Finish's monthly Torchwood adventures or special releases have seen some cast members return here and there, but this is actually the first time in a decade that the whole gang has been back together.

The creepy-sounding audio teaser sets the desolate tone for the story, as we hear a voice tell us that mankind is at a “dead end,” and that “we should all be left behind,” before Gwen decides to spring into action.

According to a release, the new adventure will see the group fight a new enemy known as the Church of Outsiders. The synopsis reveals: “The Church of the Outsiders believe that mankind is about to evolve, to reach out into the stars. Owen Harper believes that Torchwood has to do whatever it takes to stop them.”

Judging by the teaser trailer, things are really set to go down on this o,ne and we can’t wait to hear how it all unfolds.

A spinoff of the 2005 revival of Doctor Who, Torchwood aired four series between 2006 and 2011, with 41 episodes.

Torchwood: Believe is set to arrive in April and will be available to download or on CD.
