The first trailer for Andres Muschietti's adaptation of Stephen King's IT created a fan frenzy unlike anything ever seen on the interweb, with nearly a quarter-million views in just over 24 hours. If all that interest translates into box-office bucks, Warner Bros. and New Line will be laughing all the way to the next shareholders meeting.
A new image has just surfaced of Bill Skarsgard in full Pennywise The Clown makeup in what seems to be mid-transformation into the silver-eyed, fanged fiend. Shot in the Derry sewer set, three members of The Losers' Club, Richie Tozier (Finn Wolfhard), Eddie Kaspbrak (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Stanley Uris (Wyatt Oleff) linger off to the side while the demonic creature chokes another unidentified kid in the gang inside the monitor frame.
IT will be released in two parts; the first segment drops on September 8 and centers around seven terrorized adolescents growing up in their hometown of Derry, Maine, in 1989 and stalked by a shape-shifting demon from another dimension. The chilling tale moves on 30 years later for Part 2 in 2018 and their adult attempts to drive the deranged cannibal clown back to the Deadlights.
Do you believe the hype for this upcoming horror show, or is it just a lot of hot air?
