Disney just let their new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales trailer set sail on the stormy seas of the ad insanity that is Super Sunday.
When you watch this salty promo, remember that the House of Mouse put up nearly a third of a billion dollars (yes, that's north of $320 million for us math-impaired individuals) to make this fifth installment of the fantasy adventure series adapted from the popular Disney theme park E-ticket ride. Expect a full broadside of breathtaking special effects and white-capped waves of eye-popping set pieces in keeping with the best the series has to offer when it opens Memorial Day weekend.
This new extended promo showcases a skeletal seagull, Geoffrey Rush's Captain Barbossa encircled by an undead armada of pirate ships amid a Devil's Triangle whirlpool and the terrifying visage of Javier Bardem's Captain Salazar. Johnny Cash's somber singing of "Ain't No Grave" sets the appropriate tone ... and if you're waiting for the arrival of Johnny Depp's jolly Jack Sparrow, you won't be disappointed.
Grab a bottle of rum and rush into this new Pirates of the Caribbean 5 trailer and let us know if Disney's latest voyage with their rollicking bunch of buccaneers looks like a spirited ocean adventure.
Directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales cruises into theaters on May 26.
