If you were a fanantic about the old '80s Transformers cartoons, then you'll be pleased to pieces over Platinum Games' new retro-edged Transformers: Devastation videogame, which debuted yesterday for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Imitating the bold colors and G1 characters and graphics from the nostalgic animated series, this '80s-themed third-person shooter will transport you back to those more innocent, pre-Internet times for some brutal, battle royale action.
Here's the official synopsis:
Defend the earth from the evil Decepticons in Transformers: Devastation using robot-to-vehicle attacks, slam downs, counterattacks, and infinite combos. 5 difficulty levels combined with a deep customization system means hours of gameplay and replayability. Platinum Games’ signature fast action allows instant robot-to-vehicle attacks, slam downs, counterattacks, and infinite combos for a unique master combat system. The game is set to feature five different playable Autobots, including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock. A deep customization system and five difficulty levels with overhauls in enemy composition deliver hours of intense gameplay for fans.
To further the immersive experience, many of the original TV series' voice cast has returned, including Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Dan Gilvezan (Bumblebee) and Frank Welker (Megatron and Soundwave).
