Sony has released six new clips for its upcoming female-led Ghostbusters movie starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as our new ghostbusting team. They are joined by Thor actor Chris Hemsworth in a comedic role as the girls’ secretary, Kevin.
Directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Spy), the movie will open one week from today, and a few positive reactions have trickled down on social media following a recent press screening. Maybe the movie won’t be as bad as most everyone has predicted? One can always live in hope.
In the first clip, the girls are trying out new gadgets, including a ghost-chipper and the proton glove. The second clip has them answering a call, while the third sees them powering up to go in full-on ghostbusting mode. The fourth clip introduces Rowan, the movie’s Big Bad. Check them all out below, and be aware that the July 11 release date you see in the videos is for the UK.
Also starring are Andy Garcia as the mayor of New York City and Neil Casey as the movie’s villain, Rowan. Original Ghostbusters alums Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver will pop up for cameo appearances in the upcoming movie.
Ghostbusters opens July 15 in North America.
