You never know what you might run into when you're walking through the streets of New York City. Even still, animatronic devil baby in a remote control carriage isn't typical. But that's the tactic the marketing team from Devil's Due have used to shill their Antichrist-birthing horror flick. As far as viral marketing goes? It's pretty effective.
Of course, the thing that's most noticeable is that the actual New Yorkers seem far less likely to be scared than the tourists. Especially people who actually work in Times Square proper -- they have to deal with smelly people in Spider-Man costumes every day, so robot demon spawn are child's play.
Still, I confess that I genuinely looked into Devil's Due with renewed interest after having written it off previously. So, well done, marketing team.
