You're one step closer to stepping foot inside Hogwarts castle with a new trailer for Jam City's upcoming mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Pre-registration on Google Play has also opened up here.

Created in tandem with Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment's Portkey Games (a banner reserved exclusively for Potter-related games), Hogwarts Mystery allows you to take the place of a wizard or witch in training at one of the most prestigious magical schools in the world. You can choose your house, cast spells, brew potions, go on adventures, and even make friends or start rivalries with other students.

The trailer below offers a good glimpse of the game's numeous possibilities and attributes, including most of the teachers featured in the books: Dumbledore (headmaster), McGonagall (Trasnsfiguration), Hagrid (Care of Magical Creatures), Sprout (Herbology), Snape (Potions), and Flitwick (Charms). Maybe Professors Vector (Arithmancy), Sinistra (Astronomy), Burbage (Muggle Studies), and Grubbly-Plank (a substitute teacher for Care of Magical Creatures) will be added later on if the game is successful. The same goes for Filch, the castle's caretaker, Madame Pince, the librarian, and Madame Pomfrey, the nurse.

"We are grateful to the fans who have made Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery one of the most anticipated mobile games of 2018," said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. "We're thrilled to open Google pre-registration and share a new sneak peek at how this game will let fans create their own character and enter Hogwarts as a student for the first time."

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery becomes fully available on Google Play and the App Store in the spring. An augmented reality game from Pottermore, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, is also set to drop sometime this year, while a Fantastic Beasts-inspired VR experience is already out.
