The fourth season of Primeval has been behind us for quite a few weeks already (feels like forever to us), and we're already missing the team, the ARC, the anomalies and the dinosaurs. But something fantastic cheered us up this morning: the first trailers, and a promo clip, from the eagerly anticipated season five!
If you, like us, were left hanging on the edge of your seat at the end of season four with [*spoilers ahead*] the revelation that Phillip Burton (Star Trek DS9's Alexander Siddig—and wasn't it just awesome to see him back on sci-fi TV?) was clearly involved with
that crazy evil bitch Helen Cutter (Juliet Aubrey) and the reveal of new team leader Matt's (Ciaran McMenamin) agenda, and if you screamed "Noooooooo" in front of your TV screen when Connor (Andrew Lee Potts) got into Burton's car, then you'll be happy to know that season five is coming soon with a new run of six episodes.
However, (yep, there's a however), the downer is that for now, it's only coming to the U.K. on a digital channel called Watch (it was part of a deal with ITV to save the show).
Sadly, no news yet on when BBC America will air this baby, but let's hope it's going to be soon.
In the meanwhile, enjoy the trailers (one of them is for the Amazon U.K. release of the season-five DVD set in July), and have fun seeing Lester (Ben Miller) lose his usual cool being stuck in traffic, and witness the apparition of a giant sinkhole ... dum dum dum. You just know something bad's about to come out of there.
The season-five premiere of Primeval is May 24 at 8 p.m. on Watch.
