Ahead of the Season 2 premiere of Legion next week, FX has released a cool behind-the-scenes look at showrunner Noah Hawley’s X-Men TV spinoff series. The network has also unveiled a brand-new promo putting the spotlight on Lenny (Aubrey Plaza); one of the many forms Amahl Farouk, aka the Shadow King (Navid Negahban), took while inside David Haller's (Dan Stevens) mind.

When we left off in Season 1, David found himself zapped inside an orb. Thanks to this behind-the-scenes look into the second season (which happens to features interviews with cast and crew, as well as some new footage — including more of that dance number) we find out exactly when fans can expect to see Professor X’s son to be released; and just how long he spent inside it. We also learn that the time David experienced trapped inside the mechanical contraption vastly differs (as far as he knows, since he doesn't remember much) from how long he was absent in the real world.

With no one really believing his story and David questioning the reality he finds himself in (learning that the Summerland mutants have joined forces with Division 3 to fight the Shadow King likely may throw him for a loop), Stevens says this will end up feeding David's “ever present paranoia.”

“The first year was very much about mental illness and that idea of what’s normal and what’s not normal. I wanted to continue to explore those ideas about mental illness,” Hawley added in the sneak peek. “What is a delusion? How does a delusion take hold? How does it thrive? What does it take for a group of people to go mad?”

Those are some pretty intriguing questions fans of Legion will no doubt be eager to explore when the show's sophomore season debuts next Tuesday, a new season Plaza calls “10 times more” trippy (see Exhibit A below) than Season 1. So prepare to be mind-blown.

Legion returns with a 10-episode second season on April 3 only on FX.
