We finally got our first peek at footage from J.J. Abrams' eagerly anticipated Trek sequel Star Trek Into Darkness last week, though the brief snippet left some fans wanting. Luckily, Trek writer Roberto Orci has a message for all the haters.
After fans started blasting away on TrekMovie.com that they were let down by the little bit of footage, Orci reportedly took to the forums to offer up his response.
His take? Chill out, because this movie is going to blow you away:
"I guess you will have to show me the marketing handbook you are using to question our schedule. Appreciate that you wanna see things ASAP. Delayed gratification is not a strong characteristic of some folks. I get it. All I can say is:We get that Abrams, Orci and the gang want to keep things under wraps, as to not blow their buzz too early with the film still several months away. If anything, it only adds to the Trek mythos, and plays right into the marketing machine as we keep falling all over ourselves for every peek we can get.
relax. the movie is gonna melt your face right off. Your eyeballs are going to bleed. And you'll thank us;)"
The Trek sequel is set to open May 17, 2013.
What do you think of Orci's promise? Do you believe him?
