The CW is bringing back an alum of the old WB series Roswell for a DC-based role in The Flash, and it might hint at the future introduction of superhero Metamorpho.
Actor William Sadler, who portrayed Sheriff Jim Valenti on Roswell, will play shady DC businessman Simon Stagg in episode two of The Flash in a role that will likely be recurring on the series. Stagg is CEO of Stagg Industries, which is one of the many major corporations kicking around the DC universe comic canon.
Though he’s popped up in a fair share of arcs, he’s likely best known as the guy who indirectly led to the creation of superhero Metamorpho. In the comics, Stagg’s daughter, Sapphire, is being courted by adventurer Rex Mason, who is sent to Egypt to recover the Orb of Ra. Stagg has him beaten once he arrives, though he’s near the orb by that point and is transformed into Metamorpho.
Considering The Flash will be expanding into the more super-powered corners of the DC universe, there’s a solid chance this could be planting some seeds for the future. Fingers crossed. Do you think Sadler is a good casting addition?
