When it was announced a few days ago that director David Ayer would be reuniting with Margot Robbie for Gotham City Sirens — a Suicide Squad spinoff featuring an all-female team of supervillains that’s just been fast-tracked by the studio — the internet became abuzz with the news.
In the Gotham City Sirens comics, Harley Quinn (Robbie) teams up with Batman’s on-and-off girlfriend Catwoman and frequent partner-in-crime Poison Ivy. So of course, everyone chimed in with their ideas as to who should play the other two ladies. And this is where this interesting rumor comes in.
According to a report over at Bleeding Cool, Megan Fox, a huge comic book fan who’s expressed some interest in playing the DC supervillain who uses toxins from plants and mind-controlling pheremones to commit her crimes, has apparently ordered to her Warner Studios address some super-specific pre-52 Harley Quinn DC comics that feature Harley and Poison Ivy. Namely: Harley Quinn #14 and #17.
Now, how on Earth the site got their hands on that info is beyond me (they claim to have seen hard evidence of this), so please take this with the appropriate dose of salt, at least for now. As I said, Megan Fox is a big comic book fan who has already starred in a few comic book properties (Jonah Hex, TMNT, Transformers, Lois Lane on Robot Chicken), so I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if the actress is indeed circling the role of Poison Ivy. Question is: Are Warner Bros. and David Ayer circling her?
Do you guys think Megan Fox would be a perfect Poison Ivy, or would you rather see someone else in the Gotham City Sirens role?
