It sounds like there might be trouble in paradise for Joss Whedon’s eagerly anticipated Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Everyone loves the pilot — but what about all the episodes after that?
Apparently they might not be looking so hot. There’s a new report making the rounds via Defamer that Whedon has had to do full-scale rewrites on some of the more recent scripts, sometimes in the hours leading up to a cast read-through.
Here’s the full rumor report:
“Looks like ABC's highly anticipated Joss Whedon-produced drama is in need of a superhero. A source close to the show tells us that the latest scripts that have come in have been so bad, Whedon had to pull off a page one rewrite just an hour before the table read. Given that Whedon is supposed to be transitioning full showrunner responsibilities to his brother Jed Whedon and sister-in-law Maurissa Tancharoen so that he can focus on his 83 other film projects, this ain't a good sign.”
What’s strange is that Joss’ brother Jed and Joss’ sister-in-law Maurissa Tancharoen have been working with Whedon for years, dating back to Dollhouse and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. It seems like it’d be a pretty seamless transition, but apparently not.
So what do you think is going on? Are these rumors true?
