The critical reaction might not have been great, but a whole lot of people watched Netflix's Iron Fist series — and it sounds like Marvel is close to announcing a second season.
A report has surfaced out of Puerto Rico Comic Con, where star Finn Jones was a guest, alleging the actor teased that an announcement would be coming soon in regard to a second season of Iron Fist. The report doesn’t detail Jones’ exact words, so it’s hard to parse much beyond the report itself, but it sounds like there have at least been some discussions about where to take Danny’s journey in another run of episodes.
Which, honestly, isn’t much of a surprise. Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are all getting second seasons — and even The Punisher has gotten his own spinoff series. So it’d have been a surprise for Iron Fist to be one-and-done. But the first season was kind of a dud, so hopefully they can map out a tighter story for the show’s potential return.
The Iron Fist story is set to continue in Marvel’s Defenders miniseries later this year, so it stands to reason is could set up Danny for a new story that could play into a second season. Of course, the first season of Iron Fist ended on a major cliffhanger, so there are plenty of angles left to explore if the show returns.
What do you think? Would you like to see more Iron Fist?
