There's an interesting new rumor floating around that a certain Marvel Cinematic Universe character will undergo quite the transformation in Captain America: Civil War.

POSSIBLE MOVIE SPOILERS AHEAD!

The good folks over at MCU Exchange claim that a returning General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross — played by Incredible Hulk's (2008) William Hurt — will become [AGAIN, SPOILERS!]

Red Hulk.

Right. So the rumor is that Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk, who willingly went MIA at the end Avengers: Age of Ultron, will be involved in the events of Civil War after all (the actor himself recently hinted he'd be back for the third Captain America movie) and that there will be an epic brawl to end all epic brawls between the two hulking characters. The battle is said to rival the one we got to see between our big, green, lovable Hulk, and Iron Man's (Robert Downey Jr.) Hulkbuster armor in Age of Ultron. Well, that could be a whole lot of smashing fun!

Of course, I can't stress enough the need for you guys to take this with a grain of salt (even if it's a potentially awesome one), since nothing's been confirmed as we speak. In the Marvel comics, General Thunderbolt Ross was turned into the Red Hulk in order to combat his lifelong nemesis, Bruce Banner. He even became one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes at one point. Will the Red Hulk be the reason Banner's Hulk will return to the Avenger fold? That remains to be seen. What do you think?
