Is the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy about to get a major makeover?
According to the gang at MakingStarWars.net (via Screenrant), not only did the upcoming anthology film get a new helmer in Ron Howard, taking over for fired directing duo Chris Lord and Phil Miller, but the famed Corellian light freighter famed for making the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs will have a new paint job as well.
Unverified reports suggest that the Falcon's steel-gray look from the original trilogy and Episodes VII and VIII will be replaced by a blue trim along with a white coat of paint – as evidenced by concept art of the vehicle making the rounds on the web.

But considering the Han Solo spinoff focuses on the titular swashbuckler's early days before the events of A New Hope, a fresher-looking version of the Falcon makes perfect sense. Especially one that's not breaking down and in constant need of repairs as we saw in The Empire Strikes Back where we learned Han won it from old buddy and fellow smuggler Lando Calrissian in a card game.
That moment that will of course make for an eagerly anticipated scene in Han Solo, not to mention Han's first meeting with future sidekick Chewbacca and a potential run-in with the gangster Jabba the Hutt and his coterie of baddies, including everyone's favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett.
Han Solo, with Alden Ehrenreich in the starring role, Donald Glover as Lando and Paul Bettany recently joining a cast that also includes Emilia Clarke and Thandie Newton, blasts its way into theaters May 25, 2018.
