Have the title and theme for American Horror Story’s eighth season been revealed? ScreenRant seems to have some pretty decent, albeit still circumstantial, evidence for what the new title of FX’s Emmy award-winning horror anthology series will be.
20th Century Fox recently filed a trademark for American Horror Story: Radioactive, leading to speculation that this will be the title for the upcoming season, but also suggesting the theme may be connected to nuclear war. Or some sort of post-apocalyptic wasteland. Or radioactive mutants. Or zombies. Huh. Now that we think about it, even if the title for Season 8 is indeed American Horror Story: Radioactive, the options for what the story could be are still wide open.
What we do know is that giving Season 8 some sort of nuclear fallout theme would certainly fit with co-creator Ryan Murphy’s tease to reporters earlier this year that the upcoming season “takes place in the future.” That, and the season won’t be set in outer space.
We reached out to FX and have not yet heard back, so this is still speculative. Either way, we’ll be finding out sometime between now and when FX airs the new season this fall. What do you think? Has 20th Century Fox filed a trademark for American Horror Story: Radioactive just for goofs and a grin, or is it likely that this is what the focus and title of Season 8 will be? Let us know what you think.
