Put this rumor in the "potentially totally awesome news of the day" category, because it seems that we may get to see our favourite non-superhero redhead, Iron Man's Pepper Potts, in The Avengers after all.
Right in the wake of that leaked Avengers teaser clip found at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger (which we described for you here), we've also learned that actress Gwyneth Paltrow may have already reprised her role as Tony Stark's love interest, Pepper Potts, in the Joss Whedon-directed film.
This was suggested by the people over at Dis Fan Review, who claim that "sources" have confirmed to them that Paltrow had already filmed her scenes for one of the most highly anticipated films of 2012:
According to our sources the famous Hollywood leading lady made an extremely quiet entrance into New Mexico on Monday or Tuesday and was said to have definitely departed by Thursday, making an equally quiet exit. A source close to the production say's that somewhere in that time frame Mrs. [Paltrow] spent two entire days shooting her appearance in the film. Our sources also indicate that her part in the film is more than just a glorified cameo. However, our sources were unwilling to reveal much more than that.
As with every rumor, we urge you guys to take this with a grain of salt (as we're sure you already are)—though Pepper Potts' actual appearance in the film would both make sense and be truly awesome.
In the meanwhile, we'll just be crossing our fingers and toes that we'll get some sort of official confirmation (or denial) before or during Comic Con. Or at least soon. Before they turn blue.
