Remember the time Famke Janssen subtly alluded that Dark Phoenix, Jean Grey, could resurrect herself and return someday? And remember when we all assumed she'd meant Days of Future Past? Well, what if she'd actually meant The Wolverine?
Recently, Hugh Jackman mentioned that, in addition to his making a cameo in Bryan Singer's new X-flick, Days of Future Past, the guest appearance door would swing in both directions. To wit, Jackman said, "There is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it."
So the question becomes, who is it? We know that The Wolverine is set after the events of X-Men: Last Stand. In addition, Jackman has said, "My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him."
Who could really hurt Wolverine? Jean as the Phoenix is strong, yes, but what we're thinking is less physical hurt and more deep, emotional pain. After all, if there's one constant between the movies and the comics, it's that Wolverine has some very powerful feelings when it comes to Jean Grey.
What do you think? Are we way off base here, or are you also expecting to see Famke worm her way into Wolverine's heart one more time?
