Yesterday, we told you that David Slade was going to direct a new Daredevil movie. And as usual, the casting game and rumors have already started—and this one involves every teenage girl's favorite vamp,
Edward Cullen Robert Pattinson.
The West Hollywood Resnorter over at Moviehole reports (and this is only a rumor, so please, take it with the usual grain of salt) that:
And yes, with David Slade given the job, there's "some kind of talk" about Robert Pattinson — who, with the Twilight series winding up, is going to be looking for a new well-paying gig — playing the part of Matt Murdock - - -which, I have to say, I don't dislike the idea of (I think he has some chops under that pale exterior, and definitely has the right 'look').
The operative word here is "some kind of talk." Sure, Slade (30 Days of Night) knows Pattinson because he directed him in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which is undoubtedly an advantage for Pattinson if the young actor wants to get his hands on another job and franchise with Twilight almost over.
Though we don't absolutely dislike the idea of Robert Pattinson in the role of the blind superhero Matt Murdock/Daredevil, we're not really sure how good he'd be for the role. He's an average actor with a huge (mostly female) fan base, for sure, and that would be a plus for the studio. He's also probably at the height of his popularity. But would the guys, and the older demographic, take him seriously as Daredevil? That would remain to be seen (IF he gets the role, of course).
But what do you think? Do you think Pattinson would be perfect as the red-clad Man Without Fear? Or would you rather see someone else in the role? If so, who?
