Rumor has it Warner Bros. and DC could be close to locking down a director for Green Lantern Corps.
According to That Hashtag Show, the studio has set its sights on a new director for the Green Lantern reboot (David S. Goyer has previously been rumored to sit in the director's chair) and that director is potentially Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ Rupert Wyatt. Now, since this hasn’t been officially confirmed, don’t forget to take it with a pinch of salt.
Wyatt is no stranger to comic properties and had previously signed on to helm Gambit for 20th Century Fox before dropping out because of a scheduling conflict. The director is currently wrapping up a little sci-fi movie titled Captive State starring John Goodman (Kong: Skull Island) and Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel). When that's done, he'll be free to direct the superhero film if that turns out to be true.
Rupert Wyatt did some great work on Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and I'm totally down with him directing what DC is describing as "Lethal Weapon in space."
Have a look at the video below, which includes character breakdowns for Hal Jordan and John Stewart, and let us know who you would like to see step into the roles. Also: Do you think Rupert Wyatt would be the perfect choice to helm Green Lantern Corps? The movie is slated for a 2020 release.
