Ryan Reynolds goes on a Where’s Waldo-themed Easter egg hunt the way only Deadpool can

Where’s Deadpool? While some of us spent Easter the way we always do — hovering around after kids on a mindless hunt for badly hidden Easter eggs — Deadpool was taking Easter hide-and-seek to a whole ‘nother level.

For this year’s Easter/April Fool’s two-for-one holiday combo, Ryan Reynolds hit Instagram with a Where’s Waldo-style hidden-pictures graphic that, if you’re a Deadpool fan (and who isn’t?), is totally bananas. X-Men and Deadpool characters are everywhere, caught up in stupidly funny scenarios, negotiating an Easter Egg minefield that does nothing to sap our appetite for the impending release of Deadpool 2.

Reynolds sets it up with a quippy “I like eggs three ways: scrambled, poached or hidden.” Take a guess which way he means here — although we have to confess we aren’t totally sure there aren’t some scrambled and/or poached eggs hidden somewhere in all this blissful chaos.

At the center of it all is a bunny ears-festooned Deadpool, who’s clearly getting the bad end of the exchange in a behind-the-bushes confrontation with Cable (played by Josh Brolin in the movie… and perhaps here as well). There’s plenty of other stuff going on, and we’ll get you started with a couple of highlights — but the fun’s all in the discovery, so after those, you’ll be on your own.

Who’s that striking a pose with Wolverine? Why, it’s X-23, chillin’ with dad for some kind of park bench parkour dance throwdown (hey, the holidays are all about family time.)

And check out that semi truck. Who’s the sassy lady piloting that thing? Um... that’d be Blind Al. Better clear a path... a wide one.

The marketing for the Deadpool movies has gotten so good, it’s almost a shame the movies themselves eventually come out and put a stop, albeit a temporary one, to the fun. In the case of Deadpool 2, that moment’s coming soon: The merc with a mouth will be back in theaters beginning May 18.
