One of the joys of any production from Sam Raimi or his longtime producing partner Rob Tapert—Spider-Man, Xena, Hercules—is the guest appearance of Raimi's irrepressibly goofy brother, Ted, so it's with great pleasure that we learn the erstwhile Joxer will make a return appearance on Raimi/Taper's newest TV show, the syndicated fantasy Legend of the Seeker.
Ted's the latest in a line of great guest stars we're promised this year on the surprisingly entertaining show, starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Charisma Carpenter in the season opener.
We've posted the official announcement below.
FAN FAVORITE TED RAIMI RETURNS TO "LEGEND OF THE SEEKER"
Reprises His Guest-Starring Role as Magic Peddler Sebastian
Burbank, CA, November 18, 2009 - Ted Raimi ("Drag Me to Hell," "Spider-Man 3," "SeaQuest DSV"), actor and brother of "Legend of the Seeker" executive producer Sam Raimi, will guest star in an upcoming episode of the epic fantasy series "Legend of the Seeker," it was announced today. Raimi, who begins filming in New Zealand this week, will reprise his role as Sebastian, the fast-talking, shady mapmaker and magic peddler who teams up with Zedd's brother Thaddicus to sell a magical cure for Banelings -- evil souls returned from the underworld.
Currently in its second season, "Legend of the Seeker" combines elements of fantasy, adventure, magic, mystery and romance with state-of-the-art visual effects and a high level of action. "Legend of the Seeker" is from the talented team behind the long-running, successful series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and "Xena: Warrior Princess," and the studio that produces primetime network hits including "Lost," "Grey's Anatomy," "Desperate Housewives," "Ghost Whisperer" and "Army Wives." The series is produced by ABC Studios and distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. Ken Biller, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Ned Nalle and Josh Donen serve as executive producers.
