Is it a bit obvious? Sure, but it's still really funny to see people freak the flip out when a horror monster literally crawls out of a TV.
To build some buzz for the long-gestating sequel Rings, the folks at Paramount Pictures' marketing team decided to bring the franchise's signature creature to life in an unassuming electronics store. They set up a fake wall with a fake TV and brought in some unsuspecting customers to check out the latest models — not realizing one actually houses a real-life Samara just waiting to bust out and grab them.
Rings is the latest entry in The Ring franchise, which brings the unsettling story of a haunted VHS tape into the modern age. We have screens everywhere now, and Samara can now bust out of your phone or laptop or anywhere she damn well pleases. The sequel stars Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D'Onofrio.

This is awesome, but we just can’t stop thinking about that spoof scene in Scary Movie 3. Like, how did nobody freak out and start punching that poor actress?
