Back in 2002, The Ring started the English-speaking remake craze of hit Japanese horror films and scared the pants off of everyone (me included) with the introduction of everyone's favorite contortionist vengeful spirit, Samara, and cursed VHS tapes. A sequel followed in 2005 but from there the franchise remained dormant until Rings was announced.
While Paramount dropped a creepy new trailer last week, another one has since made its merry way online (as well as a new poster) that will no doubt send chills down your spine as more footage for the upcoming movie is revealed. The third entry features a brand-new cast that includes Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio.
The movie is directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) from a screenplay by Jacob Estes (Mean Creek), David Loucka (House at the End of the Street) and Akiva Goldsman (I, Robot). Rings will open in theaters on Feb. 3. Check out the new trailer below, but I have to warn you guys: you'll only have seven days left when you do. Tic-toc.
A new chapter in the beloved RING horror franchise. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: There is a 'movie within the movie' that no one has ever seen before…
