We were already excited about seeing Gravity, and thanks to this rather intensely terrifying (and dizzying) new clip starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, we think we’ll be in for a brilliantly awesome sci-fi ride.

Released by Warner Bros., the new two-minutes clip is one long extended take—a technique director Alfonso Cuáron put to good use in Children of Men—featuring every astronaut’s nightmare: a spacewalk gone wrong, with space debris flying at our two main characters.

This jaw-dropping footage is actually the one that wowed us this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con.

Gravity is set to open in theaters on Oct. 4, 2013, but will play at the Venice Film Festival in August. Lucky bastards.

What do you think? Is this chillingly exciting new clip enough to make Cuáron's long-struggling Gravity one of this year's must-see sci-fi flicks on your list?
