The Walking Dead’s Sarah Wayne Callies has traded shuffling zombies for bone-chilling ghosts in the upcoming horror movie The Other Side of the Door.
Directed by Johannes Roberts (Storage 24), the creepy thriller sees Callies in the role of Maria, a grieving mother trying to bring her dead son back in order for her to say a final goodbye. Of course, things go horribly, horribly wrong when she cannot heed the warning NOT TO OPEN THE DOOR.
Written by Roberts and Ernest Riera (Forest of the Damned 2) and roduced by Alexandre Aja, Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh, the movie also stars Jeremy Sisto (The Returned).
Here is the official synopsis:
A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.
The Other Side of the Door will open in movie theaters on March 11, 2016.
