Go ahead and clear out some time on your schedule, 'cause there's a whole lot of stuff to check out on streaming in April.
From excellent sci-fi films like Gremlins and Kubo and the Two Strings and the long-awaited revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000 to a really weird anthology series (and a whole lot more), there are ample offerings to check out across Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime in April. Oh, and we didn't even mention Bill Nye's return to being a Science Guy. Seriously, the month is stacked.
We went through the list and picked out every sci-fi or sci-fi adjacent movie or TV show you might want to check out. Set your calendar, prepare your couch and check the batteries on the Roku. Here we go.
Kubo and the Two Strings: This stop-motion animated film was one of the best releases of 2016, despite the fact that it was mostly a dud at the U.S. box office. Now is the perfect time to check it out. Just have the tissues ready, because it’ll bring the water works.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 2: Thanks to Netflix's nifty new deal with The CW, your favorite superhero shows will drop in full within weeks of the season finale. If you gave up on Legends in Season 1, it's time to come back. Season 2 was one of the best (and goofiest) things on television. Well worth a long weekend to catch up.
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return: The low-budget modern classic returns with all new episodes and a new cast, including geeky fan favorites Patton Oswalt and Felicia Day. Just bring the popcorn.
Bill Nye Saves the World Season 1: The Science Guy is back with a new show that’s just as geeky, but aimed at grown-ups (or, you know, the 30-somethings that all grew up watching his old show). If anyone can save the world, it's Bill.

The Secret Life of Pets
Robocop: Sad to say, it's relatively slim pickings for Amazon Prime customers this month. If you've finished the new season of The Man in the High Castle, check out the first two RoboCop films. Because, umm, that's about it for sci-fi fare in April.
The Last Exorcism
Thunderbirds Are Go! Season 3
Dimension 404: Hulu is getting into the sci-fi anthology game, but their entry is on the weird side. This series looks like a lower-brow Black Mirror, and we mean that in the best way possible. Stars include Mark Hamill, Patton Oswalt, Joel McHale and Lea Michele.
Preacher Season 1: This comic-based AMC series was fantastic, though it took until pretty much the end of the season to really ramp up. If you missed it live, catch up before Season 2. Trust us, it's worth it.
The Handmaid’s Tale: The eagerly anticipated adaptation of Margaret Atwood's acclaimed novel also drops this month, telling the story of a future America that has turned into a dystopia with widespread infertility, where women have been subjugated.
