Octopuses are fascinating creatures, something that Jessica Jones learns in Season 2 of her eponymous show. So fascinating, in fact, that searches for "octopus DNA" skyrocketed after the release of Jessica Jones.

In episode five, "AKA The Octopus," Jessica interviews a man obsessed with octopuses. He rattles off some intriguing facts, including one about octopus DNA. "No one knows where their genes come from," Dave tells Jessica. Their genes are described as "de novo," which means "out of nowhere." This is all true, with some scientists referring to octopus DNA as "alien." It is highly complex, with more genes that code proteins than humans have, and octopuses have the ability to actually rewrite their own RNA.

This is pretty interesting stuff, so it is no wonder that online interest for facts about octopus DNA increased. (Learning is fun!) But it gets even better - and a little less educational. Adam Holisky tweeted out the following chart, showing the increase in Google searches for octopus DNA, and tagged the @JessicaJones account.

In true Jessica Jones fashion, the account responded with this:

Tentacle porn is also a real thing, mostly confined to anime. Mostly. Search for tentacle porn at your own risk.
