Season 2 of The Flash finally arrives on DVD and Blu-ray today, but if you can’t get your hands on the Scarlet Speedster’s sophomore season RIGHT NOW, then these two deleted scenes should tide you over.
When Season 2 premiered in the fall of last year, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) was in a pretty dark place following Eddie’s (Rick Cosnett) death at the hands of Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher) and Ronnie Raymond’s (Robbie Amell) sacrifice to help him close the singularity. In the first deleted scene, courtesy of IGN, we see Barry talk with Joe (Jesse L. Martin) about the guilt he feels in the death of both Eddie and Ronnie.
The second deleted scene comes to us via Entertainment Weekly and shows Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) on their first date. Awwww. That’s, of course, before Jay is actually revealed to be the villainous Hunter Zolomon, aka Zoom. Poor Caitlin. Poor Barry! Seriously, these guys may be two of the unluckiest fictional people I know.
Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom's game and uncovers the evil speedster's true goal: to destroy all the earths in the multiverse. In the face of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.
The Season 3 premiere of The Flash will zoom across our TV screens on Oct. 4 on The CW. Here's a little tease from the premiere episode, titled "Flashpoint."
