Two girls meet on a train platform -- two girls who are the same girl. Or are they?
To be honest, the first time Orphan Black started making the rounds, it sounded like it was a weird, British version of the failed Sarah Michelle Gellar series Ringer. But the more that's revealed about the new BBC America drama, the more fascinating its prospects become. As if the BBC's marketers sensed our interests piquing, they released the first three minutes of the pilot episodes as if on cue.
It gives us just enough to want to know more about our protagonist without giving away any of the mystery. It sure doesn't hurt that the show will premiere right after the first new episode of Doctor Who, either. Here's the description for the series.
Sarah, an outsider and orphan whose life changes dramatically after witnessing the suicide of a woman who looks just like her. Sarah assumes her identity, her boyfriend and her bank account. But instead of solving her problems, the street-smart chameleon is thrust headlong into a kaleidoscopic mystery. She makes the dizzying discovery that she and the dead woman are clones...but are they the only ones? Sarah quickly finds herself caught in the middle of a deadly conspiracy, racing to find answers.
What do you think? WIll you be tuning in?
