Want to get your hands on some cool Star Trek props and have the proceeds go to a good cause? You're in luck.
Alec Peters began collecting Trek memorabilia and props starting at the 2006 Christie's Star Trek auction. In less than a decade, he has gone on to have one of the largest collections of Trek props in the United States. His collection and dedication to Trek are incredibly cool, but there's more to life than just gadgets and stuff.
Peters is selling off a portion of his collection in order to help his closest friend and her two kids have a place of their own that's near where he lives. Think of it as one of those times where a collector realizes that it's only fun to collect when you have someone in your daily life to share it with. It's a sentiment we can get behind, but it also doesn't hurt that Peters has a host of stuff he's selling on eBay. Some of it is already sold, but we've listed a bunch of the stuff that's currently available now on eBay. Be sure you check out Alec's prop page, too, though, if only to covet the sweet costumes that are already sold.
