Finally! Shooting is officially underway on The CW’s new Flash series, and we have the first set pics of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in action.
The Arrow spinoff promises to be a more sci-fi take on the small-screen DC universe, and the first set pics show that Barry Allen will apparently be working to manage his new super speed. Along with some nice action shots of explosions and whatnot, the set pics also capture Gustin’s Allen running ... and falling. Yeah, we figured there'd be a learning curve with those powers.
At this point, it looks like Allen hasn't suited up in his trademark red suit and is only wearing some casual street attire. So the jury is still out on how the above suit will actually work in action. Fingers still crossed they can pull it off.
These pics also give us a peek at the visual tone of the pilot, and the color scheme looks like a slightly brighter take on Arrow — but still within the same visual palette. Gustin’s version of Allen was surprisingly solid when introduced on Arrow, and we’re anxious to see if he can actually carry his own series.
While we wait for the debut this fall (assuming the pilot isn’t a bust, of course), check out the pics and let us know what you think.
